The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) has signed a partnership agreement with the DIFC Academy to furether develop and support the accountancy and tax profession in the UAE.

 

As per the agreement, both ACCA and the DIFC Academy will foster mutual cooperation for the advancement of their members and the accounting and tax profession within the UAE. 

 

The agreement also includes the sharing of information between the two bodies with a priority of technical knowledge and professional development, said the statement. 

 

Both parties will work together to ensure continued training within the tax arena and provide services and support for members, it added.

 

The MoU was signed at the DIFC Academy by Alya Al Zarouni, Executive VP Operations and Head of DIFC Academy at DIFC Authority, Fazeela Gopalani, Head of ACCA Middle East and Malek Sarieddine, Regional Business Development Manager, ACCA Middle East.

 

Malek Sarieddine, Regional Business Development Manager, ACCA Middle East, who was instrumental in bringing this MOU to fruition said: “The agreements such as this, are designed to continually raise the standards of the accounting and finance profession across the region and are integral to ensure that those working within this area remain as trusted advisors who safeguard the integrity of financial reporting."

 

On the deal, Gopalani said: "We are delighted to have signed this agreement with the DIFC Academy which cements our commitment to the profession and will see the beginning of a collaborative and successful association."

 

Al Zarouni said: "DIFC Academy is committed to accelerating the country’s economic growth by developing local talent in the financial sector. Our partnership with ACCA will provide a unique platform for accounting and tax professionals to gain enhanced training opportunities to develop their skills."
