The Bahrain Pearl & Gemstone Institute (Danat) will be offering a wide range of services to visitors at the five-day Jewellery Arabia Exhibition which opened today (November 16) in capital Manama.

Established in 2017, Danat is a wholly-owned unit of the Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company (Mumtalakat), the sovereign wealth fund of the kingdom.

Danat inaugurated its pavilion at the Jewellery Arabia Exhibition which will run untill November 20 at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Center.

The key services being offered during the expo include the examination of pearls, gemstones and diamonds using the institute's cutting-edge equipment and technologies.

A major highlight of Danat offer is that after testing all the visitors will be given a certificate of examination and classification of their expensive purchases immediately, which provides them with the highest levels of reliability, comfort and reassurance.

The event, being held under the patronage of HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Bahrain's Crown Prince and Prime Minister, was inaugurated by Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa in the presence of senior officials.

Soon after the opening, Shaikh Ali toured the expo pavilions along with senior ministry officials and at Danat, they were welcomed by top management of the company.

"We are pleased to record another successful and distinguished participation of Danat Institute at the Jewellery Arabia Exhibition," said its Chairman Yasser Al Sharifi.

"Danat is keen to participate in the expo year after year as part of its marketing strategy and to promote Bahrain as a prominent gem hub mainly for the extraction and trading of pearls, as well as jewellery and precious stones in general," he stated.

"During the expo, Danat is also catering to the needs of visitors who wish to experience the "oyster opening" in order to enrich their experience in how to deal with the oyster, and they also have the chance to get the pearl that may be inside," he added.

CEO Noora Jamsheer said: "After the exceptional circumstances that the world has experienced as a result of the pandemic, we are optimistic about returning to our customers, serving them, interacting with them, and meeting their aspirations."

"We will also take advantage of the opportunity to participate in the Jewellery Arabia Exhibition to closely know market trends, stay abreast of various developments, and improve our performance and role in serving the national economy of the kingdom," he added.
