Lighting Expo 2025 to illuminate Saudi Arabia this month

The Lighting Design & Technology Expo 2025 will return for its 4th edition from September 9–11 at the Riyadh Front Exhibition & Conference Centre, where it will bring leading lighting innovators together with Saudi Arabia’s architects, lighting designers, consultants, developers, project owners and engineers at the forefront of the country’s giga-projects.

Organised by dmg events, the Lighting Design & Technology Expo will run alongside INDEX Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom’s largest and most influential interior design exhibition.

Together, the two events are expected to attract more than 17,000 buyers, creating an unrivalled sourcing and networking platform for the region’s burgeoning design and construction sector.

The Saudi lighting market’s compound annual growth rate is projected to grow at 10.2 per cent through 2030, according to Prescient & Strategic Intelligence.

This surge is being fuelled by rapid urban development, the adoption of energy-efficient LED technologies, the rise of smart homes, and a new wave of giga-projects that demand cutting-edge lighting solutions.

“Saudi Arabia is undergoing one of the most exciting transformations in the world, and lighting plays a pivotal role in shaping the way we experience these spaces – from iconic new cities to hospitality and cultural landmarks,” said Jasmeet Bakshi, Vice President at dmg events. “The Lighting Design & Technology Expo provides the crucial link between global innovation and Saudi Arabia’s design ambitions, connecting international providers with the decision-makers driving Vision 2030 projects.”

Underlining its pivotal role in shaping the future, the Lighting Design & Technology Expo will host more than 40 exhibiting brands from more than 20 countries, showcasing the latest in decorative, exterior, public realm, intelligent, and indoor lighting systems.

Global names including iGuzzini, Abensal, Namaraa, Planlicht, Hlinear, Estelles, Alurays, Neko, JISO, Zafferano, Shylon, and AZOOD will take to the exhibition floor, presenting tailored solutions to meet the needs of Saudi Arabia’s ambitious design landscape.

Adnan Khan, Global Business Head, Estelles Lighting, added: “Estelles is bringing Smart DC, our flagship Power over Ethernet [PoE] technology that is changing the game in today’s world and that of the future. With Smart DC not only do electricity expenses reduce by 30 per cent, but it is also 50 per cent more sustainable and efficient than regular electricity infrastructure. Yet more importantly, it also offers greater control and flexibility, ultimately delivering an enhanced guest experience, which in turn strengthens loyalty both to the brand and to the project owners.”

Beyond the exhibits, the event offers a rich programme of talks, workshops, and design discussions. As part of the INDEX Design Talks, lighting will be in focus during sessions on topics ranging from emotional storytelling through interior lighting to designing for Expo 2030 and FIFA World Cup 2034, as well as collaboration between manufacturers and designers.

With giga-projects such as NEOM, The Red Sea, Diriyah Gate, and Qiddiya setting new global design benchmarks, the Lighting Design & Technology Expo offers architects, consultants, contractors, and project leaders, direct access to the technologies creating the built environment of tomorrow.

From intelligent systems that transform user experiences to decorative solutions celebrating cultural narratives, the Expo will act as a catalyst for innovation in one of the world’s fastest-growing markets.

Reflecting on this vision, Nathalie Buchakjian Abou Jaoude, Managing Partner at Abensal Arabia, said: “Saudi Arabia’s visionary projects are redefining the future of urban development and hospitality on a global scale. To meet the demands of such ambitious initiatives, we provide lighting solutions that balance aesthetic excellence, technical performance, and sustainability. At this year’s Expo, we are presenting a curated showcase of leading European brands that combine innovation and quality, offering solutions that not only illuminate spaces, but also inspire creativity, elevate user experiences, and support the Kingdom’s bold architectural vision.”

“Lighting is functionality, yes, but it’s also increasingly about storytelling, emotion, and identity,” added Bakshi. “By creating this dedicated platform in Riyadh, we are building a community of lighting pioneers who will play a defining role in Saudi Arabia’s journey towards becoming a global design leader.” -TradeArabia News Service
