Vestdavit seals largest sales contract with Damen

Vestdavit, a leading Norwegian supplier of advanced boat-handling systems, has achieved a key milestone with the signing of its biggest sales contract yet, delivering cutting edge davit systems to leading global shipbuilder Damen Naval. This deal covers delivery of four confirmed vessel sets.

The Anti-Submarine Warfare Frigate (ASWF) is a project of the Royal Netherlands Navy and Belgian Navy to replace the existing Multipurpose- or M-frigates.

This collaborative naval program will see the construction of four next-generation frigates two for each nation designed to enhance anti-submarine warfare capabilities in the region. The Netherlands is leading the project, with Damen Naval serving as the main shipbuilder.

The role given to Vestdavit to provide a state-of-the-art davit system demands that these vessels will be equipped with robust, reliable, and safe boat-handling davits, reinforcing the operational readiness and versatility of these future naval assets.

Each vessel in the program will be outfitted with advanced dual davit systems and accompanying equipment on both sides of the ship.

Engineered with high-grade materials and designed to perform in demanding environments, these davits set a new standard in strength and resilience and represent a new benchmark in davit design.

The systems offer high operational flexibility and precision, with features that support safe and efficient handling in dynamic conditions. Built to accommodate a range of vessel and mission requirements, they also incorporate automation technology to enhance overall performance and reliability.

These Telescopic davits and painter boom equipment are engineered for versatile deployment, offering both dual- and single-point operation to support a wide range of mission profiles. It also incorporates several tailored design elements to meet the specific demands of the project.

"This contract is a major win for Vestdavit, not only in terms of size, numbers but also technological advancement," remarked Vestdavit’s CEO Rolf Andreas Wigand.

"These are highly advanced davits. They reflect our commitment to innovation and the evolving needs of modern navies and coast guards," he stated.

"This historic contract reflects not only the trust Damen Naval has placed in our technology but also the strength of our partnerships and our team’s dedication to providing industry leading solutions. We’re proud to be delivering safe boat handling systems that will play a vital role in the future operations of these vessels," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
