New shipping service links China ports to Jeddah port

The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has announced the addition of the new "BOS" shipping service, operated by Blue Ocean, to Jeddah Islamic Port.

This service enhances the competitiveness of the kingdom’s ports, expands its maritime service network, boosts operational efficiency, and reinforces Saudi Arabia’s leading position in the ports and maritime sectors, while also supporting national exports, a Saudi Press Agency report said.

The new shipping service strengthens the connection between Jeddah Islamic Port and ports in China via three major global ports: Qingdao, Ningbo, and Nansha. It offers a capacity of up to 2,300 twenty-foot-equivalent units (TEUs).

The addition of this service is part of Mawani’s ongoing efforts to enhance the Kingdom’s ranking in global performance indicators, promote the flow of national exports, and align with the goals of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, which aims to establish Saudi Arabia as a global logistics hub connecting three continents, the report said.
