Balexco boosts Bahraini employees' salaries with Tamkeen support

In line with ongoing efforts to advance its national talent, the Bahrain Aluminum Extrusion Company (Balexco) has increased the salaries of 56% of its Bahraini employees through Tamkeen’s Wage Increment Programme.

This initiative aligns with the company’s broader efforts to consistently invest in the recruitment, development and success of Bahraini professionals. The employees received increments ranging from 5% to 20%, it stated.

Established in 1977, Balexco is the first aluminum extrusion plant in the Gulf region.

The company has a long-standing industrial legacy, known for producing high-quality aluminum profiles and systems, including the patented Primo systems developed in recent years.

Balexco said this support comes in alignment with Tamkeen’s 2025 strategic priorities, which focus on enhancing the position and competitiveness of Bahrainis in the private sector, equipping them with suitable skills for career development in the private sector, and prioritising enterprise growth, digitisation and sustainability, and supporting the development of the ecosystem surrounding the labor market and private sector.

Tamkeen said it has played a pivotal role in supporting Balexco over the years through various programmes including financing, and training and employment support.

These contributions have significantly boosted the company’s productivity, driven growth in the industrial sector and raised Balexco’s Bahrainisation rate to 65%, it stated.

This initiative is within wider efforts to advance Bahrain’s industrial sector – currently the third-largest contributor to the kingdom’s GDP after the financial services and oil services sectors and accounting for 14% of the GDP as of Q1 this year, it added.

The Labour Fund said it has introduced various programmes designed to support employment and career development for Bahraini professionals, ensuring they remain the first choice of employment in the labour market.

Additionally, Tamkeen offers multiple enterprise support programmes to strengthen the private sector, positioning it as the main driver of economic growth in the kingdom, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
