The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority organised a specialised workshop on the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) tourism at the Exhibition World Bahrain (EWB).
It was attended by 50 representatives from sectors linked to business tourism, including BTEA’s marketing and promotion teams, EWB management, hotels, travel agencies, the Economic Development Board (EDB), as well as relevant government and social entities.
The session was delivered by Khalid bin Walid Al Zadjali, Director of Oman Convention Bureau at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, reported BNA.
Al Zadjali reviewed Oman’s experience in hosting and organising regional and international conferences, and highlighted ways to benefit from this within the framework of the executive programme of the MoU between Bahrain and Oman on tourism cooperation.
The exchange of expertise and joint efforts, he noted, would help achieve shared objectives in developing the MICE sector in both countries.
BTEA Deputy CEO for Resources and Projects Dana Osama Al Saad said the workshop was part of implementing the executive programme of the tourism cooperation MoU between the governments of Bahrain and Oman.
She said it also supports ongoing efforts to further develop the MICE sector in the kingdom, a key pillar of the Tourism Strategy 2022–2026.
The advanced facilities of the EWB enhance the kingdom’s position as a leading regional hub for hosting international events and reinforce its role as a pioneer in this sector, she added.
