Fairmont Bab Al Bahr appoints new Director of F&B

Fairmont Bab Al Bahr, a city resort in the heart of Abu Dhabi, has appointed Erica Costa as the new Director of Food & Beverage (F&B).

With an international career spanning Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, Costa brings a wealth of experience and a progressive vision to lead the hotel’s dynamic culinary operations.

Costa began her journey in Food & Beverage leadership with the successful opening of Anantara’s first European property as Assistant F&B Manager.

Her career quickly took on an international scope with a move to Anantara Koh Phangan in Thailand, where she served as F&B Manager.

She continued to ascend in leadership roles, joining Jumeirah Beach Hotel in Dubai as Associate Director of Food and Beverage, and most recently holding a senior position at the iconic JW Marriott Marquis Dubai.

Originally from Portugal, Costa spent nearly five years in Thailand and has called the United Arab Emirates home for the past four years.

Her extensive global background is matched by her hands-on leadership style and her passion for curating exceptional guest experiences.

Among her many career milestones, Costa played a pivotal role in the reopening and repositioning of beachfront restaurants at Jumeirah Beach Hotel, she contributed to the successful launch of new venues and helped drive impressive performance in guest satisfaction and profitability at JW Marriott Marquis.

However, Costa notes that her most meaningful achievements lie in mentoring and developing future leaders—a legacy she continues to build with pride.

Costa brings to Fairmont Bab Al Bahr a leadership philosophy grounded in empowerment, clear communication, and strategic alignment.

She views F&B leaders as business owners—accountable and deeply connected to both the team and the guest experience. As a female leader in a competitive industry, Costa is proud to champion inclusivity and opportunity, especially within Abu Dhabi’s progressive hospitality landscape.

Reflecting on her new role, Costa stated: “Joining Fairmont Bab Al Bahr is both a privilege and a responsibility. This property holds a special place in Abu Dhabi, and I’m excited to build on its reputation by working closely with our talented team to create immersive new food and beverage experiences that honor our guests, our community, and the destination as a whole.” -TradeArabia News Service
