Egis expands Mideast asset management capabilities with key acquisition

Egis, a leading global firm in architecture, consulting, construction engineering, operations and maintenance services, has announced the expansion of its asset management capabilities in the Middle East.

This strategic move follows the agreement to acquire Certus Digital, a renowned digital asset management consultancy, and the appointment of Donavan Ellis as Regional Director of Asset Management, which in turn will allow Egis to strengthen its regional asset management services, building a comprehensive end-to-end service that supports the full lifecycle of critical infrastructure operations.

Established in New Zealand in 2003, Certus is a trusted digital transformation partner to major enterprises locally and globally and is a Platinum IBM Business Partner.

This expanded capability, creating a global team of nearly 200 dedicated asset management professionals, delivers expert strategic, technical and digital asset management services to clients managing complex assets across diverse regions, said Egis in its statement.

Egis is well on its way to establishing the transversal services capabilities that asset managers and owners are looking for in a strategic partner.

The combination of strategic and technical engineering skills, deep digital asset management and AI and data analytics capabilities create a powerful platform to provide business transformation services that will generate exceptional outcomes and value for its enterprise customers.

The integration of Egis' engineering and operational experience with the advanced digital asset management expertise and software solutions of Certus, creates a unique and powerful offering.

This synergy will provide clients with an integrated approach to maximising asset value throughout their lifecycle, crucial for the region’s ambitious development plans.

This strategic move enhances Egis’ ability to provide regionally tailored solutions that align with evolving client needs, including support for privatization initiatives, transition from oil-based funding, PPP contract delivery, performance optimization, lifecycle cost analysis, and strategic alignment with long-term organizational goals.

Donovan Ellis, the Regional Director of Asset Management, Egis in the Middle East & South Asia said: "I am thrilled to be joining Egis at such an exciting time. The company’s strategic and deliberate investment in asset management creates a strong foundation to deliver truly holistic and integrated services to our clients, helping them optimize performance and maximize value of their vital assets across the different disciplines in the region."
