Trinasolar supplies 100MW Vertex modules in Gobi Desert

Trinasolar has supplied 100MW of Vertex series modules to a project in Jinta, Gansu Province, China, transforming the Gobi Desert into a source of green energy.

The modules, based on a 210mm technology platform, offer power output, efficiency, and reliability, reducing the levelised cost of electricity (LCOE) while ensuring stable energy yield despite environmental challenges.

The plant site, which receives 3,200 hours of sunshine annually, is an ideal location for photovoltaic development.

The 500MW project generates 736.5 million kWh of electricity annually, saving 300,000 tonnes of standard coal, reducing CO₂ emissions by over 800,000 tonnes, and cutting particulate matter emissions by nearly 4,000 tonnes.

“This project goes beyond energy generation—it exemplifies how solar power can actively restore degraded land,” said Cao Yunduan, Head of Global Branding and Marketing at Trinasolar. “It stands as a compelling testament to the successful integration of ecological preservation and sustainable energy.” -OGN / TradeArabia News Service
