The World Surf League (WSL) Longboard Tour returns to Abu Dhabi for its second edition of the Surf Abu Dhabi Longboard Classic next month, and this year’s event is bigger, better, and bringing a live concert to cap off an action-packed weekend.
Following its debut in 2024, the event will once again welcome the world’s top male and female longboard surfers from Friday 24 to Sunday 26 October 2025.
Reigning champions Steven Sawyer of South Africa and Alison Lemoigne of France return to defend their titles, along with a star-studded field of elite competitors including five-time and current world champion Taylor Jensen.
Over three days, athletes will battle for crucial points in the race for the 2025 WSL Longboard World Title.
This year, the star power extends beyond the athletes as one of the surf world’s most popular musicians, Donavon Frankenreiter, will wrap up the weekend with a high-energy, feel-good live show that keeps the vibe going long after the final wave.
Known for his laid-back sounds and deep connection to surf culture, Frankenreiter’s music is the perfect complement to a weekend celebrating the world’s best longboard surfing.
The Surf Abu Dhabi Longboard Classic is the third event on the 2025 WSL Longboard Tour Championship Series, following events in Huntington Beach, California and Bells Beach, Australia, before the season finale in Surf City, El Salvador.
Spectators can soak up nine hours of surfing action each day as part of a vibrant festival atmosphere. Rooftop viewing decks offer spectacular panoramic skyline views, and with live music, interactive activations and a buzzing food village serving local and international flavours, there’s something for everyone to savour.
For those looking to elevate their experience, a special hospitality package is available, giving guests exclusive access to NALU restaurant and its pool, offering a relaxed, family-friendly space to spend the day – jump between the surf, the pool, great food, and live entertainment at your own pace.
