
Belgian group DEME set for Oxagon Phase II dredging work

DEME, a leading Belgian group specialising in the field of offshore energy, dredging, marine infrastructure, and environmental works, will begin the cutter suction dredging work at Oxagon - the reimagined industrial city on the Red Sea within Saudi Arabia's $500 billion futuristic city NEOM - later this year.
According to DEME, its overseas, dredging and infra units have maintained a high activity-level in the Middle East mainly with focus on Saudi Arabia, UAE and Egypt.
On its Saudi work, the Belgian group said this dredging work comes as part of its dry earth moving activities for the Phase Two of Oxagon.
In UAE, it has deployed a cutter dredger for an Abu Dhabi project, while in Egypt, the DEME team continues with the dredging and land reclamation works on the Abu Qir 2 project with a strong deployment of hopper dredgers and a cutter dredger.-TradeArabia News Service
