DUBAI, October 21, 2021

du, from Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (EITC), has partnered with Thales, a worldwide leader in data protection, to leverage Thales’ technology to enhance the du Cybersecurity Defence Centre and Digital Trust portfolio.

The partnership was made official with a signing ceremony at Gitex Technology Week 2021, which is currently taking place at Dubai World Trade Centre until October 21.

Saleem AlBlooshi, Chief Technology Officer, du, said: “Now more than ever, the telecommunications and ICT arenas demand advanced data security solutions that deliver the best possible outcomes continuously. du has always engaged with external partners to combat threats and prevent potential digital discrepancies from presenting themselves and negatively impacting clients and communities. And as such, we are delighted to make our collaboration with Thales official under the banner of Gitex 2021.

“The enterprises and government entities we support can rest assured that every data security component will become even more enhanced in due course. Related activities will ultimately be beneficial for all, subsequently upgrading security postures, securing in-country data, and elevating our process-driven and defence-in-depth approach.”

As a result of the new partnership, data will be more protected against evolving threats, with Thales data protection products providing welcome confidentiality, integrity. Organisational security and compliance will become more robust and the total cost of ownership will be reduced. du will avail lower operational costs and capital expenditures, as well as optimised staff efficiency and productivity, by leveraging integrated Thales services.

These benefits will ultimately come to fruition via several key products. Thales Cipher Trust Data Discovery and Classification will broaden sensitive data visibility with efficient data discovery, classification, and risk analysis across heterogeneous data stores, such as the cloud, big data, and traditional environments.

At the same time, Thales Key Management will streamline and strengthen key management processes in cloud and enterprise environments over a diverse set of applications. Furthermore, critical data and digital identities will be protected in high-assurance, FIPS 140-2-verified, tamper-resistant Thales Luna hardware security modules (HSMs).

Sebastien Pavie, VP Sales Southern EMEA, Data Protection solutions, Thales, added: “We are proud to be providing businesses with the necessary capabilities to protect and manage essential data through encryption, advanced key management, tokenisation, and authentication and access management through this collaboration. We look forward to supporting du moving forward, and Gitex 2021 marks the beginning of what promises to be an effective and successful partnership.”

du provides cybersecurity solutions that enable organisations to manage risk, take a proactive approach to security, adopt digital solutions with confidence, and build cybersecurity postures that continually provide protection in a rapidly changing threat landscape.

Supported by Wipro, du’s Cybersecurity Defence Center comprises a set of proven processes, leading technologies, and a global team of trusted security researchers and analysts to enable efficient incident detection, analysis, and response.
