56 Bahraini employees complete Alba training programme

MANAMA, 5 days ago

Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), the world’s largest aluminium smelter on one site, has announced that 56 Bahraini employees have successfully completed the ‘Al Jisr’ Training and Development programme.

This flagship initiative is designed to build essential supervisory skills and accelerate career progression for high-potential nationals, reinforcing Alba’s commitment to developing future leaders from within, said Alba in a statement.

Alba’s CEO Ali Al Baqali recognised the programme’s participants during a ceremony held today (February 16) at the company’s premises, in the presence of the senior management team.

The ‘Al Jisr’ candidates, comprising both male and female employees from various departments, underwent structured development over four years.

Each participant was assigned a seasoned mentor from their respective work area coupled with expert guidance from an instructor within Alba’s HR and Training Department.

Their progress was closely monitored and tracked through seven performance reviews –conducted every 6 months – with active engagement from the company’s executives and directors, it stated.

"Al Jisr is a testament to our commitment to Bahraini talent," remarked Al Baqali. "With 87% Bahrainisation, we’re not just building a company, we are investing in our future. By nurturing and empowering our national talent, we are building a stronger, more resilient company and contributing to the prosperity of our nation."

"I also take the opportunity to congratulate our 56 graduates -- you are our leaders of tomorrow," he added.

Launched in November 2020, the Al Jisr Programme stands apart by accelerating career progression, reducing the eligibility period for nationals to become eligible for supervisory roles in Alba upon successful completion.

This unique feature underscores Alba’s proactive approach to leadership development and its dedication to providing Bahraini employees with unparalleled opportunities for advancement, said the statement.

The graduation of these 56 individuals marks not just a personal milestone for them, but also a significant investment in the future of Alba and the Kingdom of Bahrain, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
