Raffles The Palm Dubai launches 'royal' afternoon tea

DUBAI, 9 days ago

Raffles The Palm Dubai has unveiled an all-new afternoon tea experience, “The Grand Palaces Afternoon Tea”, set within the opulent surroundings of the lobby’s grand Blüthner Hall.

Guests are invited to embark on an immersive journey through the culinary splendours of Europe’s royal palaces, from England and France to Austria and beyond, where each bite is inspired by the taste of the sophisticated flavours and grandeur traditions that once graced the tables of monarchs.

Taking place daily from 2pm to 6pm at AED395 per couple, each course, crafted by Executive Pastry Chef Samith James, is a nod to the rich traditions and sophisticated tastes that defined the lives of kings and queens.

Elevating this experience is the meticulous thought and care infused into every detail. Guests are welcomed with a bespoke gold accented hand-written letter by Chef James, as he narrates the culinary journey they will embark on, accompanied by a regal scroll featuring sketches of each palace and its pastry, which takes guests through a visual journey of European grandeur. Starting with the quintessential British ritual inspired by the grandeur of Buckingham Palace, guests will savour delicate flavours of cucumber sandwiches and the timeless Victoria Sponge Cake, a favourite of Queen Victoria herself. The journey continues to the opulent Palace of Versailles, where visitors are treated to the palatial flavours inspired by Marie Antoinette’s lavish lifestyle, embodied in the exquisite Orange Blossom Macaroon.

Further into this culinary voyage, the experience captures the essence of Vienna’s renowned Schönbrunn Palace with the legendary Sacher Torte, a decadent chocolate cake layered with apricot jam, an ode to the city’s rich culinary history. The comforting warmth of Belgium’s Royal Palace is also celebrated with a modern take on the beloved Speculoos Cake, a delightful blend of spiced biscuits and rich chocolate, embodying the warmth of traditional Belgian confectionery.

Each element of the menu serves as a tribute to the storied history and cultural richness of the historical palaces. The honey-drenched Medovnik Cake pays homage to the Czech Republic's regal traditions, offering layers of honey-infused sponge and creamy filling, while the Kyiv Cake showcases the artistic legacy of Ukraine’s Mariyinski Palace with its delicate sponge and meringue layers.

Set within the plush ambience of Blüthner Hall with the soothing sounds of the majestic Blüthner Louis XIV Grand Piano in the background, the The Grand Palaces Afternoon Tea will transport guests to an era where history and flavour come together in perfect harmony. -TradeArabia News Service
