The Lincoln Nautilus
Lincoln Nautilus offers a refreshed physical and digital space
DUBAI, July 12, 2024
Colours, scent, touch – the all-new Lincoln Nautilus offers a refreshed physical and digital environment that seamlessly blends nature and technology for an experience of mobile sanctuary like no other.
“Sanctuary was our guiding principle for the creation of the Nautilus,” said Kemal Curic, Global Design Director at Lincoln. “Particularly on the interior, we wanted to create a true third space on wheels that is connected and allows you to explore your journey in a most relaxed environment.”
Interior insights
The all-new Lincoln Nautilus features a reimagined interior that aims to maximise the sense of open space for every passenger. While the design team studied living spaces and the ways in which Lincoln clients interacted with those, there was another, somewhat surprising muse behind the Nautilus’ design. “Among the inspirations we used were Zaha Hadid’s architecture and the Louvre Museum in Abu Dhabi,” explained Curic.
“The architectural design creates this sense of openness and calmness, which, paired with incredible lighting coming from the ceiling, makes the space look inviting and an outdoor-like blending with the surroundings.”
Syncing human, digital and nature
The use of human-centric technology has been a mainstay in Lincoln’s overall design vision since the debut of Quiet Flight and the all-new Nautilus’ 48” panoramic display – the largest in its class – embodies this ethos thanks to its integrated flowing, horizontal instrument panel that offers new levels of personalisation.
“Attention to detail, not only in the physical form but also in the digital design, is something you can see in the holistic approach we adopted for the creation of the Nautilus,” said Curic.
Lincoln has always looked to nature as a source of inspiration, and the all-new Nautilus takes this up a notch.
A reimagined cabin incorporates new ambient lighting along with crystal-inspired details that capture the essence of seeing sun reflected on water – a piano key shifter, instrument panel toggles and audio knob that shimmer. The Nautilus awakens with a new Lincoln Embrace beginning at the center of the new display, flowing out into the front and rear door panels. A flat-top steering wheel allows clients to see over, not through the wheel, giving an overall effect of comfortable openness and a sense of freedom.
Scents of sanctuary
In keeping with its nature-inspired cabin experience, the all-new Nautilus offers a specially curated range of digital scents for the cabin. Housed in the center armrest, three scent cartridges give a variety of memorable aromas that tantalise the olfactory senses: Mystic Forest, an earthy blend with woody, rich notes of patchouli; Ozonic Azure, a crisp blend of aromatic patchouli and traces of bright violet; and Violet Cashmere, exotic white florals and trusted violet that are crisp and refined as fresh linen. Clients can choose from three levels of scent through the center screen.
“Colour, smell, touch and feel – all are tenets of our Lincoln vision and embody the human experience inside your vehicle,” said Curic. “We consciously chose the specific colours that pair with each digital scent and on-screen environment, which sets the stage for a range of moods and experiences.”
The three aromas were purposefully selected to evoke memorable moments and, alongside the award-winning available Revel Ultima 3D Audio System – which features 28 speakers that envelop each occupant in rich, precise, and multidimensional sound – aim to activate every sense.
Dynamic exterior
The emotional aspect of design was central to the making of the all-new Nautilus. “From the moment you glance at it, there is no mistaking the three words Nautilus brings to mind: Calmness, comfort and reverence,” explained Curic.
The all-new Nautilus features a dynamic, new exterior and all-new LED headlamps, available H2 Pixel Headlamps as well as all-new LED taillamps with animation. The new signature lighting elements represent the brand’s lighting vision for the future, reinforcing and connecting the lit Lincoln star, signature front light bar, and a new, handcrafted grille.
In addition to the available four signature exterior body colours – Red Carpet, Diamond Red, Chroma Caviar and Blue Panther, the all-new 2024 Nautilus introduces three new available interior colour themes:
•Black Onyx and Medium Light Space Gray, a fresh take on a core offering that enhances the feeling of spaciousness
•Smoked Truffle, a two-tone neutral but warm theme that provides an interior space that is cozy and calm
•Black Onyx and Allura Blue, offered as a Reserve model theme, creating interest through a subtle interplay of colours while offering a distinct and refined theme that advances the expression of Lincoln
The available Jet Appearance Package, which is available on two trims, includes two-tone paint, available high gloss-black 22-inch wheels, an exclusive interior environment, and anodised black exterior elements. The package offers a sleeker and more dynamic look – another way for clients to personalise their all-new Nautilus. The exclusive Black Onyx Sport interior features a Copper Code aluminum applique, which is enhanced by Dusted Copper accent stitching throughout.
For the ultimate in Lincoln luxury, the all-new Nautilus will offer a new, exclusive Lincoln Presidential theme – Redwood – in addition to the popular Chalet theme. Redwood mimics the warmth and beauty of the redwood forest, with a tree-inspired motif.
“Going forward, we expect to see even greater synergy between physical and digital experiences, which will continue merging into one holistic environment – an environment much more curated and bespoke to individual needs,” said Curic.--TradeArabia News Service
