Ceer teams up with Italian group Sabelt for sports car seats

RIYADH, 15 days ago

Ceer, a unit of Saudi wealth fund PIF, has announced the signing of a SAR543 million ($145 million) partnership agreement with Sabelt, an Italian company specializing in the design and manufacturing of high-performance sports seats, racing car seats, and safety systems.

The agreement aims to develop sports seats for Ceer’s sedan and SUV models, said the company in a statement.

Ceer is the first Saudi automotive brand to manufacture electric vehicles, aligning with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and PIF strategy to develop emerging sectors, diversify the economy, and promote sustainability by reducing carbon emissions and advancing environmental conservation efforts.

On the deal, CEO Jim DeLuca said: "This partnership reinforces our commitment to delivering electric vehicles (EVs) that integrate innovative design, cutting-edge technologies, outstanding performance, and premium craftsmanship."

"Our flagship models will establish new benchmarks for electric vehicles, redefining the sector and providing an exceptional driving experience comparable to high-performance sports cars," he stated.

Under this agreement, Sabelt will engineer and manufacture innovative sports seats that meet the highest standards of safety, comfort, and advanced design for Ceer’s flagship EVs.

The seats will feature an integrated belt system (ABTS) within a lightweight metal structure, ensuring dynamic performance and enhanced stability, with a low-seating position to improve driving control, explained DeLuca.

This collaboration reflects Ceer’s strategic vision of selecting world-class partners to accelerate the development of Saudi Arabia’s automotive industry.

It also reinforces Ceer’s mission to design, engineer, manufacture, and sell globally competitive EVs within the Kingdom while supporting local and international industry growth, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
