DUBAI, 16 days ago
Andreu World, an international contemporary furniture company, will tonight (November 5) open its first showroom in the UAE at Dubai Design District (d3).
Designed by renowned Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola, this new space will serve as a gathering point for the brand's customers, professionals, and visitors to the city.
The showroom’s opening coincides with Dubai Design Week, the region’s largest creative festival running in strategic partnership with d3 until November 10.
The sustainability-centric design brand has an extensive global footprint, with 32 showrooms in 26 cities across North and South America, Europe, the Middle East, and South and East Asia.
Its arrival in Dubai aims to leverage the emirate’s vibrant arts and design scene and tap into a diverse and growing consumer market representing UAE residents and a regional and international traveller base.
On November 7, the brand will introduce the Circular Design Challenge, a global initiative by Andreu World to promote responsible design and circular economy principles, positioning the company as a leader in sustainability through a panel discussion on Sustainability and Circular Design with top voices of interior design, sustainability and architecture.
As part of this Challenge, a discussion featuring leading voices such as Darren Taylor (INC), Diane Thorsen (Gensler), and Lindsay Campbell (M_39) will be held at the showroom, fostering conversations on sustainability and innovative design.
"The Middle East is a powerful emerging market for the interiors and design space, as people begin to invest in lasting, sustainable products and furnishings," remarked Jesús Llinares, the CEO of Andreu World.
"We are seeing promising demand that makes opening a permanent base in Dubai a natural next step in our company’s long-term growth strategy. Through Dubai Design District, we get to lay our foundations in a recognised creative hub frequented by design connoisseurs locally, regionally and globally while surrounded by an international community of our peers who are advancing the creative agenda. It’s an exciting step for our business to better cater to our regional customers by meeting them closer to home," he added.
"There is significant demand for sustainable living among UAE and Middle Eastern consumers," said Khadija Al Bastaki, the Senior Vice President of d3, a part of Tecom Group.
"Brands like Andreu World cater to the mounting appetite for environmentally friendly brands, interiors and lifestyle products, allowing people to live their values without compromising aesthetics and functionality. We welcome a renowned international brand to join our global creative community and capture this market while adding incredible value to the rich dialogue around sustainability and design occurring within our community and Dubai’s broader creative ecosystem as we shape the future of design thinking," she added.-TradeArabia News Service
