Radisson Dubai Damac Hills names three new managers

Radisson Dubai Damac Hills has named three managers to handle the hotel’s core departments such as F&B operations, front office and marketing, public relations and social media.

F&B Operations Manager Ashleigh Dolan, Assistant Front Office Manager Preet Sandhu, Marketing, PR, and Social Media Manager Shannon Somaza, besides strengthening their core departments, will add value to the hotel, & RHG’s commitment to gender diversity, and inclusion, said Siddhartha Sattanathan, the General Manager.

“And in this instance, we’ve added generational diversity by having in Shannon, our first Gen Z on our Management Team, and geographical as well with Spain and Australia being added onto the countries represented on our team.”

Shannon Somaza embarked on her hospitality journey with a solid academic background, completing her bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a focus on the food industry at the renowned Le Cordon Bleu school. She has a master's degree from IE University.

With a background in marketing and corporate communication within the F&B and hospitality sectors, Somaza has cultivated her expertise through diverse experiences across Europe.

Her passion for the industry is evident in her relentless pursuit of excellence and continuous learning, having achieved certifications such as the WSET level 2. Alongside her academic achievements, Somaza has delved into traditional media and social media landscapes, adept at navigating the ever-evolving digital landscape.

“Her ability to adapt to change and leverage emerging trends positions her as a dynamic force in strategic communications. With a keen eye for innovation, she excels in shaping brands' identities and positioning across diverse platforms, using emerging trends to drive impactful results.

"Strategic communication is the cornerstone of brand elevation and building genuine connections," said Somaza.

"Throughout my journey, whether working within organisations or collaborating with agencies, I've been driven by a commitment to shaping compelling narratives for FMCG companies, hotels, and restaurants."

Originally from Australia, Dolan started his hospitality journey at Radisson, laying the groundwork for a prosperous career. His experiences have spanned the globe, from vibrant urban centres to secluded islands, shaping his professional journey.

Dolan’s career has been marked by diversity and adaptability. Managing lively pubs in Hong Kong and supervising bustling cafes in Dubai, he has refined his craft in various environments, always eager to apply insights into hospitality across cultures.

"I firmly believe that genuine hospitality knows no boundaries and unites diverse cultures," said Dolan.

Sandhu is a seasoned professional in hospitality, brings a wealth of experience and a genuine commitment to crafting memorable guest experiences. Beginning her journey in India, she graduated from WGSHA, Manipal, a prestigious hotel school, before launching her career with Taj Hotels and Resorts.

“With a thirst for growth, she embraced opportunities in scenic locations like the Himalayas and Goa, swiftly climbing the ranks at JW Marriott Mussoorie and W Goa.

Transitioning to Dubai in 2022, Preet's dedication to exceptional guest service continued at FIVE Hotels and Resorts. Now, as Assistant Front Office Manager at Radisson Dubai Damac Hills, she channels her expertise and passion into her role.
