Arenco Accor chefs win big at ExpoCulinaire 2024

DUBAI, June 19, 2024

Arenco Accor Properties chefs and their teams took part in the ExpoCulinaire 2024 in the UAE, for chefs, pastry chefs, bakers, cooks, students and culinary professionals, and bagged 19 medals across various categories.

Executive Chef Roziro Mathias, Executive Pastry Chef Dammika Herath and their team of chefs at the Arenco Accor Properties namely, Novotel Suites & ibis Mall Avenue Dubai, Novotel & ibis Deira Creekside Dubai and ibis Al Rigga, were honoured at the three-day annual competition.

ExpoCulinaire is the established home of The Emirates International Salon Culinaire – the biggest and most prestigious culinary competition in the Middle East.

The Salon Culinaire is a visual extravaganza of culinary showcases and practical cookery demonstrations and world-class culinary competitions covering – exciting ice carvings; intricately decorated buffet platters; spectacular pastry and chocolate creations; picture-perfect platters of all manner of edible delights.

A total of 10 chefs participated in this prestigious event and won six bronze medals, eight silver medals and five gold medals, for setting new standards of excellence and innovation in the competition.

Their passion, creativity, and dedication to the culinary arts have earned them this prestigious , said a statement.

The winning chefs:

  • ​Emad Alhazwani, Sous Chef:  winner of 2 Bronze medals, 1 Silver medal & 1 merit certificate (Practical Cookery)
  • Rukmal Pushpika Jayalath, Demi Chef de Partie: winner of 1 Silver & 1 Gold medal (Savory Tart, Fish & Seafood)
  • Roshan Pradeep Chathuranga Juwan Waduge, Sous Chef: winner of 3 Gold medals (Chicken, Fish & Seafood)
  • Suranga Himashana Gunarathna, Demi Chef de Partie: winner of 1 Silver medal & 1 Gold medal (Chicken)
  • Aheesh Koyappathodi, Chef de Partie: winner of 1 Silver medal (Fish & Seafood)
  • Yoshan Jeewanka E. Hewapathiranage, Demi Chef de Partie: winner of 1 Bronze medal (Chicken)
  • Mohammed Akram Mukhtiyarshaikh, Chef de Partie: winner of 1 Silver medal (Fish & Seafood)
  • Muhammad Atif, Commis 1: winner of 3 Bronze medal (Arabic & Emirati Cuisine)
  • Gowtham Padmanabamurugan, Commis 1: winner of 2 Silver medals and a merit certificate (Chicken & Emirati Cuisine)
  • Abdul Rehman, Commis 2: winner of 1 Silver medal and a merit certificate (Chicken & Emirati Cuisine) – TradeArabia News Service
